W.G. Lockhart Dies Suddenly
Republican ranks were saddened and thrown into a turmoil with the sudden death of William Glenn Lockhart, 58, 1861 East Brook Rd., Saturday at 1:45 p.m.
Mr. Lockhart, Republican candidate for County Commisioner, died unexpectedly in his home of a heart attack.
Born in the same home in which he died, Dec. 22, 1900, he was a son of the late Guy L. and Mary B. Munnell Lockhart. He was married to the former Margaret Boucher who survives him.
A farmer by occupation, Mr. Lockhart was a member of the East Brook United Presbyterian Church.
He graduated from Westminster College in 1924 and was on the board of the Lawrence County Planning Commision, director Pennsylvania Slate Farmers' Assn., former director of the Western Pennsylvania Guernsey Breeders Assn., Western Pennsylvania Artificial Breeders Cooperative, and New Castle Rotary Club.
In addition to his wife, he leaves one sister, Mrs. Mildred Alborn, New Castle; one brother, Kenneth L. Lockhart, New Castle.
Friends may call today at the Robert A. Myers Home for Funerals, 208 N. Jefferson St. from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Services will be held in the funeral home Wednesday at 3 p.m. with Rev. J.Earl Hughes in charge. Interment will be in Graceland cemetery.
