LUDVIG SEVERIN HOVEN* ANSWERS FINAL CALL.
Had been in ill health ever since last May. Was employed in [Ringsrud] mercantile store here [Elk Point, South Dakota] for fifteen years.

Ludvig Severin Hoven was born September 11, 1866 in Brule township, Union County, South Dakota. His boyhood days were spent on the ancestral homestead, and he received his education in the Union County public schools. After reaching maturity he was employed in a store in Elk Point, SD for a period of fifteen years.

On July 4th, 1903, he was married to Miss Carrie Hofland at Elk Point, and about a year later he resigned his position at Elk Point and moved back to the old family homestead, where he resided till the time of his demise.
.
Mr. Hoven had been ailing since early last May and in spite of all that could be done by medical skill and the best of care, he gradually weakened until death claimed him at 3:40 p.m. last Friday, September 26, [1924]. Deceased is survived by his wife and the following children: Arnold, Gilbert, LeRoy and Hazel, also by his aged mother and two sisters, Mrs. Thomas Gunderson of Elk Point, and Mrs. Almer Helgerson of Canton, S.D. One daughter, Fern, preceded him in death.

Deceased was a member of St. Paul Lutheran church all his life, from which church the funeral was held last Monday afternoon, Rev. C.B. Runsvold officiating, assisted by Reverends A.J. Bergsaker of Sioux Falls and George Notwick of Sioux City.

Interment was made in the St. Paul cemetery.
