Kathie passed away in Davenport on Friday, October 3, 2008.

Born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, on May 15, 1945, to J. Alberto and Joy A. Maes. Kathie was christened Katherine Margaret, and they lovingly referred to her as "Kitty."

Kathie was a very wise, astute, talented, generous, organized and head-strong woman. She was naturally artistic, and had a beautiful singing voice. She enjoyed many diverse careers: Beauty School Instructor, Federal Government (Joliet and Rock Island Arsenals), Co-Founder of the National Gastric Bypass Association, Welcome Wagon Rep., kitchen manager, Purchasing Agent, among others…Most notably, Kathie will be fondly remember for her culinary skills, and everyone will miss her delicious dishes and goodies.

Kathie married Elmer G.V. Beaman on September 14, 1974, in Davenport. They gave birth to a brilliant and beautiful son, their only child, Brice Andrew, on July 8, 1980.

We will all miss her more than she ever knew, but, even sadder, more than we ever knew.

We love you, Kathie. God Speed and God Bless you, dear sister, Godmother, aunt and friend.
Rest in peace.

Kathie is survived by her siblings, Andre' (Richard) Bagwell, Oklahoma City, Okla., J. Albert (Lana) Maes II, Channahon, Ill., Marjorie (Richard) Niles, Davenport, and Mitchell (Linda) Maes, Bettendorf; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer, her son, Brice, and her parents and grandparents. May they all rest in peace in God's loving arms.
