NOTE: The mother of John August Altermann Sr. was Louisa Schultz, born in Houston, Texas Nov.15, 1856. Her parents were Johann Christoph Schiltz and Anna Maria Schultz (Schultz married a Schultz). Anna Maria Schultz was born Oct.13,1837 in Kletzke, Germany. She immigrated to Houston with her parents in 1852. Johann C. Schultz died of Yellow Fever in Nov. 1859 and then Anna married Charles Habermann in Houston Jan. 19, 1863. [Thanks to Johnny for this additional information]
