John D. Kimbrough was an ordained Free Will Baptist minister, where and when he was ordained is unknown to me, but probably as a very young man.
He was one of those who preached and ministered in Indian Territorial days (before 1907) and afterward.
The young picture of him here is cut from a group picture of pioneer ministers, that founded the Okla. State Ass'n of FWB in Holdenville, in 1908. No record is available that tells the number that he baptized, churches organized, weddings or funerals that he was the officiant, but he is acknowledged by descendants of those who knew him that he was well-loved, engaged in his work and did a great service for his Master.
His name and picture in the book, "History of the First Hundred Years 1908-2008," show his name is still honored today for his labors.
In the "Annals of Red Oak, pg 153, his name is listed with a few other ministers that preached at the Norris FWB church, even back to 1890's. He was a faithful man, and loved by all.
