Frank W. Higgins passed away on Sunday, June 29, 1913, at his home in Amherst, Nebraska, after an illness of but a few days. He was born in Bourbon County, Kansas, on July 2, 1870, where he lived until he was five years of age, when the family moved to Illinois. Ten years afterwards he came, with his parents, Caroline E "Carrie" (Hunt) and John Wesley Higgins, to Buffalo County, Nebraska, where he has resided ever since.
Frank married Mary (Newport) Roberts in 1907 in Kearney, NE.
He was engaged in business in Amherst for a number of years and was noted for his honesty and uprightness in his dealings. He had many friends in Amherst and amongst the farmers.
He was a member in good standing of the local M. W. A. Lodge.
Frank is survived by his wife, Mary (Newport) Roberts-Higgins; his step-children; his parents, Caroline E "Carrie" (Hunt) and John Wesley Higgins; and his siblings: Lucy R. Higgins, Ruth H. Higgins and Esta Anspach of Amherst, NE; Linus A. Higgins of Harvard, NE; Nellie Bremser of Gibbon, NE; Charles Thomas Higgins of Lincoln, NE; and Roy M. Higgins, of WA.
