Mrs Caroline Nickell, wife of C Patton Nickell, died at her home near Rocky Point, this county, at 3:30 o'clock on Monday evening, Jan 6th, 1895 [sic,] of pneumonia, aged 66 years. Mrs Nickell was a lady of many admirable qualities and her death is a deprivation to her community and a sore bereavement to her family. She leaves a husband and four grown sons, Rev G W Nickell of Gap Mills, and Messrs L O, Newton and R B Nickell, all of this county. Mrs Nickell was a useful member of the Presbyterian church. Her remains were interred on Jan 8th at Mt Pleasant in the cemetery adjacent to the sacred edifice where she had worshiped for so many years. - Monroe Watchman
