Electronics were his vocation and avocation. As a youth, he built radios in an attic workshop. He worked for the Hiram Municipal Power Plant, the Portage County Library (as a bookmobile driver), for Hughes Electronics (in California), and for Clevite Corp in Cleveland, Ohio. He taught the electronics & radio merit badges for Boy Scouts in Hiram. He was a member of the Hiram Volunteer Fire department & a member of Hiram Christian Church where he served as a deacon & an elder.
He died in Robinson Memorial Hospital following a tractor accident at his home in Hiram. He is survived by 2 sons, 4 daughters and a foster son, and 2 grand-children.
