Doris Juanita Watterson, 83, of Nederland, Texas, passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2010, at Gulf Health Care Nursing Home in Port Arthur, Texas.

Doris was born on July 8, 1927, in Timpson, Texas to Earlie N. Wheat and Jennie Mae Rhodes Wheat. She had lived in Nederland for eighty-three years and was the head bookkeeper at Philpot Ford for twenty years. She was a housewife and avid Gardner.

A gathering of friends and family will take place from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 26, 2010, at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. A Chapel Service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 26, 2010, at Grammier-Oberle Chapel with Reverend Russell Hall officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves, Texas

Survivors include her cousins, Donald J. Wheat and Paula DeWitt both of Houston, Edward Tyer and Janie Epperson both of Groves,; sister-in-laws, Lucy Watterson and Janice Watterson both of Port Arthur; nephew, Richard N. Wheat and his wife Christie of Nederland. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Watterson who passed away in 1986; her parents and brother, Veston Wheat.
