She was born in Florence, SC, to the late H. Eugene and Mary Lee Gooch Baker. She attended Marion High School and did volunteer work at Marion Memorial Hospital an First United Methodist Church in Marion. Miss Baker also volunteered at Franke Home and St. Francis Hospital in Charleston. She had lived in Mt. Pleasant with her sister and brother-in-law for 12 years. Miss Baker was a member of Living Fountain Ministry in Mt. Pleasant.
Miss Baker leaves behind a sister, Martha Stuart and a brother-in-law, Bill Stuart, of Mt. Pleasant; and 2 nephews, Brett Stuart of Silverthorne, Colorado and Sean Stuart of Cape Hatteras, NC.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, June 16 at Baker Cemetery in Marion. The services will be directed by Smith-Collins Funeral Home of Marion. The family will receive friends and relatives Friday evening from 6 until 8 PM at Smith-Collins Funeral Home of Marion.
