He was a native of Waynesboro, the son of F. J. and Mary B. Beard.
Surviving are his wife, Harriet B. Beard, Chambersburg, and son, Robert B. Beard, Waynesboro. These brothers and sister, Miss Grace K. Beard, Mrs. Worth Stottlemyer, Dr. C. W. Beard and Jesse G. Beard, all of Waynesboro, also survive.
He was a member of hte Methodist Church, Waynesboro. He was also a member of the I.O.O.F., Waynesboro.
He was master mechanic at the Blue Ridge Woolen Mills, Chambersburg, for 20 years and retired about five years ago. He was a teacher of mechanics at Scotland School from 1900 to 1920.
The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Seller Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. P. T. Gorman. Burial will be in Burn Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
Friends may call at the Sellers Funeral Home Wednesday evening from 7 until 9 o'clock.
