Mary was 8 1/2 when her mother died in 1850. She stayed in Temple NH with her father's parents until her father remarried 14 months later to Nancy Spaulding who was then about 24. The family then lived in Boston, but in 1853 moved to Nashua, NH, and then due to her father's failing health, in 1853 moved to his father's farm in Temple, NH. About 1865, when her father died, Mary went to Boston to be a private tutor, where she met George. Mary and George were married in Nashua, NH, Oct 31, 1867. In 1868 they moved to Kingston, MA to live with George's mother, and in 1871 across Foster lane from George's mother. In 1873 they moved to their own home in Quincy, MA, until Mary's death in 1906.
