Dareld Lee Rumelhart, 82, of West Point, died at 1:20 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010, at this home. He was born Sept. 12, 1928, in Sioux City, the son of Orlin and Marjorie Nesbet Rumelhart. On May 15, 1956, in Bluegrass, Minn. he married Marie Braith.
Survivors include his wife, two sons Gary (wife Kathy) Rumelhart of New London, Jeff (wife June) Rumelhart of Elkhart; four daughters Mary (Husband Joe) Rapisardo of Fenton, Missouri, Diana (husband Mike) Foy of Ft. Madison, Donna (husband Larry) Rhum of Fort Madison, Jenny (husband Charles) Bruner of Montrose, 18 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; one brother Delbert Rumelhart of Texas; one sister Frances Evernharm of Lawton; and seveal nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one infant sister, one son David Rumelhart, one grandson, and one great-granddaughter.

We was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in West Point, Iowa. He retired from Armour Dial in 1991 after 38 years. He was a United States Army veteran serving in the Korean War.
Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery in West Point with full military rites by the West Point American Legion Holtz-Geers Post #668. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in honor of his daughter fighting liver cancer.
