Jessie M. Allen, age 89, of Mineral Springs, Arkansas, died on September 6, 2010 at Howard Memorial Hospital in Nashville, AR. She was born on August 9, 1921 in Center Point, Arkansas, the daughter of Ben F. and Richard Irene (Beene) Smith. She was married to Luther Allen in 1951.

Mrs. Allen attended school in Center Point and graduated Valedictorian of her class. She was a life long farmer and rancher. She served as secretary-treasurer of Center Point Methodist Church for almost 40 years.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Jean Smith Boyes and Bennie Jo Smith Sasser.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Charlie Porter of Mineral Springs; one granddaughter and her husband, Sarah and James T. Lockeby of Mineral Springs, three great grandchildren, Luke, Logan, and Zoey Lockeby; and beloved caretaker, Karen McFarland. Many other relatives and friends mourn her passing.

Services will be 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at Center Point Methodist Church with Eddie Beene officiating. Burial will follow at Center Point Cemetery under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home of Nashville.

Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Center Point Cemetery, Center Point Methodist Church, or Howard Memorial Hospital Foundation.
