JONESVILLE, Va. - Ruth Hawkins , 86, Route 2, Hubbard Springs community, died Friday (Aug. 16, 2002) at Heritage Hall in Big Stone Gap, Va.

Born in Harlan, Ky., she was a resident of Ohio for years and Lee County, Va., most of her life.

She was a homemaker and a member of Hubbard Springs Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Hawkins ; one daughter, Mary Hazel Speaks; her parents, John and Elizabeth Christina Bays Hall; one brother, Curtis Hall; and one sister, Eunice Anderson.

Surviving are two daughters, Barbara Barnett of Willoughby, Ohio, and Beulah Lewis of Mentor, Ohio; six grandchildren, Estal Lewis, Patton Lewis, Elizabeth Jane Leonard, Jack Steven Lewis, James Allan Lewis and Cynthia Barnett; four great-grandchildren, Jessica Mae Lewis, John Clayton Lewis, James Allan Jasmin and Christian Steven Lewis; one brother, John W. Hall Jr., of Hubbard Springs community, Route 2, Jonesville, Va.

Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Province Funeral Home of Pennington Gap, Va.

Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday in the sanctuary of the funeral home with the Rev. Jim Belcher and the Rev. Virgil Carico officiating.

Burial will be in the Hubbard Springs Christian Church Cemetery, Route
