Mrs. Cook passed away Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2010 at Chapman Healthcare Center. She was born August 4, 1921 to Jeffie Mackfield Guice and Annie Mae Watkins Guice, She was a long time employee and retired from Russell Corporation. Prior to failing health, she was an active member of Hillabee Baptist Church and taught Sunday School. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing, and taking trips with family and friends.
Mrs. Cook is survived by her daughter, Beverly Carter (Len), Jackson's Gap; sons, Charles Cook (Ellen), Montgomery, Thomas Ed Cook, Alexander City; grandchildren, Patrick Cook (Sharon), Huntsville, Jeremy Carter (Tammy), Harpersville, Stacy Carter, Jackson's Gap, Stephanie Burton(Rick), Pleasant Grove and Jennifer Segrest (Seth), of West Chester, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Rachel Cook, Caden Cook, Joshua Carter; brother, Grady Guice, Alexander City and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Merrell L. Cook; sister, Cora G. Woodfin; brother, Wilbur T. Guice.
The family will accept flowers or memorial contributions may be made to any favorite charity.
