Mrs. Fred (Freida) Huettemann, 78, Peru, died Tuesday afternoon at Spring Valley Nursing Center following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Mueller Funeral Home, Peru, with the Rev. Virginia Anderson of Zion United Church of Christ, Peru, officiating. Burial will be in Peru City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until time of service Friday.

Mrs. Huettemann was born Sept. 5, 1908, in Hollowayville, to Karl and Wilhelmina (Heintz) Gaus. She married Fred Huettemann on Sept. 18, 1929, in Peru. She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, Senior Women's Guild and its sewing group.

She is survived by her husband; three sons, Lyle of Peru, Karl of Seneca and Gary of Webster Park; one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Joan) Maxey of Willowbrook; 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Albert Gaus of Peru and two sisters, Mrs. Joseph (Edith) Campbell and Mrs. Sam (Alma) Carr, both of Peru.

She was preceded in death by two grandchildren, four brothers and two sisters.
