Vincent Segraves (aka "C. Graves") was the son of Jacob & Priscilla (Strickland) Segraves.
Vincent first married Dosha Martin before 1814. She died in Illinois. He married Elizabeth Harper 1832 in Clinton, IL. After 1834, he married Louvina Lacy and they had eight children.

In the spring of 2017 the Veterans Administration corrected the information on this tombstone. The old stone has been removed and a new stone has been set stating "Vincent C. Graves, Corp Baker's Co. 44 US INF - War of 1812"

An additional stone rests below the government stone stating: "Known as: Vincent Segraves, Seagraves, the War of 1812" located on the right of the engraving is an American flag and on the right, a British flag; both are appropriate to the year 1812.
