Cedar Falls — Ruth E. Pries, 78, of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, Nov. 14, at Western Home Communities.

She was born June 16, 1932, daughter of Albert J. and Emma Rabe Hagedorn. She married Arthur Pries on Sept. 9, 1957, in Fredericksburg. He died Aug. 19, 2003.

Mrs. Pries graduated from Fredericksburg High School, Fredericksburg, in 1949. She attended Gates Business College, then worked for ALD Inc., Chicago, for eight years. She then worked for John Deere as a secretary for 29 years, retiring in 1985.



Survived by: two brothers, Wayne (Christine) Hagedorn of Fredericksburg and Roger (Linda) Hagedorn of Sumner; and a sister, Betty (Ray) Niewoehner of Fredericksburg.


Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Nazareth Lutheran Church, with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 6:30 p.m. today at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and for an hour before services Wednesday at the church.

Memorials: may be directed to the church, Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community in Waverly, and Christian Crusaders.
