Marion was preceded in death by her husband, William Alfred Snyder; her parents, John and Julia Kirby; her sisters, Irene Kirby, Gillie Morris and Edna Frank; and her brothers, Sidney Kirby and Isaac Kirby.
Survivors include her daughter, Debbie Oakes and her husband Raleigh, of Manassas; her grandchildren, Sara Anne Oakes and her significant other, Billy Anthony, and Gretchen Elizabeth Oakes; and the joy of her life, her great-grandson, Elijah E. Anthony.
Also surviving are her nieces and nephews, Joyce Lam and her husband, Fount, of Barboursville, Virginia, Donna Burns and her husband, Sam, of Staunton, Virginia, Bertha Gail Kirby of Richmond, Virginia, James N. Morris and his wife, Deborah, of Kodak, Tennessee; and several great and great-great-nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 15, 2009, at Augusta Memorial Park, Waynesboro, Virginia, with the Reverend Will Heyward officiating.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Prince William SPCA, P.O. Box 6631, Woodbridge, VA 22195 in memory of Marion Kirby Snyder.
