Mrs. Emma Gehl 64, Life-Long Resident of North Tama Is Dead
Succumbs at Home of Son Near Traer After Nine-Day Critical Illness
Sunday evening at the home of a son, Jay Wilson, two miles north of Traer, following a nine days' critical illness influenza and complications. The Rev. Alvin H. Boettcher, new Traer Congregational pastor, conducted the funeral services Tuesday afternoon at the church here. The building nearly filled for the event. Burial was in Buckingham cemetery. Pall hearers were S. S. Wilson, R. J. Morrison, Peter Wilson Jr., Theodore Kober, R. C. Wood and Wright Wilson.

Mrs. Gehl was a life-long resident of north Tama county. She was a daughter of J. V. B. and P. L. Greene, and born April 2, 1866, in Buckingham township. On Dec. 17, 1S90, she was married to Allen R. Wilson. To this union five children were born, all of whom are living. They are Jay, Fred and David Wilson, all of this community: Mrs. Ralph Chambers, of Clear Lake. S. D.; and Mrs. W. E. Bovey Jr., of Akron, O. All were with her at the time of her death. There are also ten surviving grandchildren.

The decedent was married July 29, 1914, to Ernest Gehl, who died May 5, 1916. Most of the remaining fifteen years of her life she spent with her children and grandchildren, although she maintained a home of her own in Traer. Mrs. Gehl always took an active interest in community affairs. She was a member of the local P. E. O. order and a past matron of the Eastern Star. She attended the luncheon given by the Past Matrons' club here two weeks ago, becoming ill the following day.
