Mr. Robert C. Schmitz, age 53, of Sun Prairie, died on Sunday, May 17, 1981 at home after a long illness.
He was born on May 26, 1927 in Montello, WI and was a retired State of Wisconsin Protective Service Officer. He was a member of Sacred Hearts Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Alice; his mother, Mrs. Norine Schmitz of Montello; three sons, Robert J. of Montello, Tom of Madison, and Don of Morrisonville; five daughters, Mrs. Gary (Pattie) Wilson of Glendale Heights, IL, Mrs. Bill (Candy) Meylor of Sun Prairie, Mrs. Robert (Gerry) Fritsch of Enid, OK, Mrs. Todd (Sue) Schneider of Burlington, and Mary Jo at home; one sister, Mrs. Wayne (Peggy) Atkinson of Montello; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Maxeen, in 1972.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 20 at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Hearts Catholic Church in Sun Prairie. Father Peter G. Fagan will officiate. Burial will be in Sacred Hearts Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the Tuschen Funeral Home, 302 Columbus St., Sun Prairie, from 4-9 p.m. on Tuesday, May 19, where a scripture service will be held at 8 p.m.
