"Dick was my gymnastics team mate and my Ranger buddy until he suffered a severely broken leg and could not continue. He was assigned to Germany and the accident involved a fuel truck which exploded and burned him so badly that he did not recover. I think of him almost daily and miss him very much. He was a bright, strong man of amazing humor and love of adventure. I am a better man for having been touched by him."
