Elsie Glisson Stinson, Elsie Glisson Stinson, 91, died Thursday, September 3, 2009, in Tallahassee. The service will be at 10 a.m. EDT Saturday, September 5, 2009, at Bevis Funeral Home in Tallahassee, with burial at Pope Cemetery in Sneads. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday, September 5, 2009, at the funeral home. A native of Sneads, Mrs. Stinson moved to Tallahassee in 1950. She retired as a supervisor with the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, and was former member of First Baptist Church and Lakeview Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son, Robert Stinson (Kathleen) of Tallahassee; and two granddaughters, Elizabeth Kathleen Stinson of Lexington, Va., and Leslie Anna Stinson of Tallahassee. Mrs. Stinson was preceded in death in 2001, by her son Jerry Winslow. Memorial Contributions may be made to Covenant Hospice, 1545 Raymond Diehl Road, Suite 102, Tallahassee, FL 32308.
