William F. Colt, 2096 20th Avenue. died Wednesday, December 19, 1984 in Foothills Care Center. He was 73.
Mr. Colt was born Jan. 8, 1911 in Las Animas and was the son of William A Colt, Jr and Ada Louise Fye Colt. He married Allene Stansel in Las Cruces, N.M. on Oct. 27, 1935.
Mr. Colt worked for the Bureau of Land Management as a conservationist and was a member of the Range Management Society. He had served in the U.S. Air Force, and was a member of the B.P.O. Elks Lodge in Telluride, CO. The Colts moved to Longmont in 1978.
He is survived by his wife of Longmont; two daughters, Mrs. Betty Lyn Colt Lyman and her husband Dwight of Ten Sleep, WY; and Mrs. Peggy Sturgeon, of Denver; a brother, David C. Colt of Marshalltown, Iowa;a sister, Mrs. Betty Miller, El Paso, TX; and four grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 11 am Saturday, December 22, at Foothills Garden of Memory. The Rev. George Cladis of Westview Presbyterian Church will officiate.
