FUNERAL WEDNESDAY FOR MRS. CHRISTIAN
Funeral services for Mrs. Elsie Ellen Gunther Christian, 47,
of Harper Road will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday
in the Mount Tabor Baptist Church by the Rev. T. M. Waldron,
and the Rev. Hubert Gray.
Mrs. Christian, a daughter of the late John Gunther and
Rachel Peters Gunther of Mount Tabor, died Sunday in a
local hospital after an illness of three-months. She was born
Jan. 25, 1911 at Mount Tabor.
She was a lifelong resident of Raleigh County and a mem-
ber of the Mount Tabor Baptist Church.
Survivors, in addition to her
mother, include her husband, Thedford Home Christian; one
daughter, Mrs. Delma Lively of Maxwell Hill; three brothers,
Emory Gunther of Crab Orchard, Colonel Gunther of Mount
Tabor, and Robert Gunther of Beckley; three sisters, Miss Ma-
cie Gunther and Mrs. Shirley Pettry, both of Mount Tabor, and
Mrs. Dora Cannady of Cincinnati, Ohio; and four grandchildren.
The body will be taken from Melton Mortuary to the resi-
dence at 3 p.m. today. Burial will be in the Mount Tabor Ce-
metery.
Pallbearers will be Orville Williams, Homer Evans, Jack
Wood, Paul Obugene, George Lively Sr., and Sam Feazell.
