Mrs. Mary Evonia Taylor King, 87, of 180 Southwood Drive, Clinton, died Wednesday at Sampson Regional Medical Center, Clinton, NC.

Mrs. King, born in Duplin County, was the daughter of the late John William and Beulah Mae Bradshaw Taylor and the widow of James Willaim King. In addition to her husband and parents she was also preceded in death by three sisters, Addie Campbell, Christine Jones, Beulah Ray Colvin, and two brothers, Carl Taylor and John J. Taylor. She was a member of Clinton Pentecostal Holiness Church and a retired Dietician.

She is survived by a daughter, Gail Gainey and husband Charles of Clinton, a son, Larry King and wife Marty of White Lake, two sisters, Eula Mattocks of Clinton, and Ola Parker of Raleigh, and one brother, Herman Taylor of Raleigh, three grandchildren, Lance King, Brandon King and wife Brandi, Ashley Hardison and husband Drew, and three great grandchildren, Colin King, Taylor King and Graham Hardison.

The family recieved friends one hour prior services at the church fellowship hall and other times at the home of her daughter.

The funeral services were held at 11am, Saturday, October 23, 2010 at the Clinton Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Dwight Dunning and the Rev. Charles Ray Jernigan officiating.

Burial was made in the Clinton City Cemetery.

The family entrusted the care of Mrs. King to the Royal Hall Funeral Home in Clinton.
