Doris Miller Treu "Dori" passed away on Saturday, November 13, 2010 in Layton Utah, at the age of 87.
She was born October 15, 1923 to George W. Miller and Emma Sorensen Miller on their family homestead near Claresholm, Alberta, Canada. Dori was always known for her industry, thrifty, service to others, ready smile and happy disposition. She grew up in Salt Lake City and graduated from South High (class of '41).
There she met her future husband, K. Milton "Mick" Treu and they were married in the Salt Lake Temple on Sept. 25, 1942. During their 65 years of marriage, Dori and Mick raised five children, Terry (Brent) Merrill, Rhonda (Ray) Olson, Tim (Sharon) Treu, Scott (Connie) Treu and Blair (Cheryl) Treu. The couple resided in Long Beach, CA, Salt Lake City, UT, Huntington Beach, CA, Provo, UT and Farmington, UT. Mick passed away June 30, 2007.
Dori is survived by younger brother, Hugh (Nadine) Miller; all five of her children; 27 grandchildren; and 62 great- grandchildren.
Dori was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many callings, including Stake Young Women's President (Granite Stake, SLC) and Relief Society President (Huntington Beach CA). She and Mick also served three full-time missions in the Los Angeles and Provo Temples as well as the Missionary Training Center in Provo Utah.
Friends may call at the Russon Brothers Mortuary, 1941 N. Main St., Farmington, UT from 6:00 to 8:00pm Tuesday evening, Nov. 16th. Friends may also call at 9:00am at Farmington 5th Ward "Rock Chapel" 272 N. Main St., Farmington, UT. Funeral services will be held at 10:30am, Wed. Nov. 17th (Rock Chapel). Interment will be at Wasatch Lawn, Salt Lake City.
