"In his "Declaration of Intention" (Certificate # 31869 from November 30, 1928) Salvatore Alfarone states that he was born in "Ato Ajercio Superiare, Italy", which problably is close to Roccella Ionica where his wife Maria Stella Cordi was born. Although this particular community by the name of "Ato Ajercio Superiare" couldn't be found on a local topographical map of Italy, scale 1:25,000 cm]. It might have been spelled incorrectly just like "Superiare" should be "Superiore".
Salvatore immigrated from Naples, Italy and arrived in Boston, MA, on board the "Cretic" on March 16, 1920, although he obviously had already made a first trip in 1911 on board the "Taormina" from Naples.
