Helen I. Harden, 86, of Sykesville, died Friday, Nov. 12, 2010, at Carroll Hospice's Dove House in Westminster.

Born Oct. 22, 1924, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Charles Joshua and Helen Virginia Hissey Bosley.

She was the wife of Charles D. Harden Jr., who died in 1995.

She had worked as a key punch operator for the former Maryland Casualty Insurance Company and in customer service for London Fog where she retired. She was a former member of Epworth Chapel and a member of Wesley Freedom United Methodist Church for many years. She enjoyed making crosses and was a seamstress. She also enjoyed writing poetry and journals.

Surviving are sons Charles Harden, of Manchester, and Robert Franklin Harden, of Sykesville; a daughter, Helen Bell, of Jacobus, Pa.; a sister-in-law, Jinny Bosley, of Manchester; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by brothers Elwood, James and Melvin Bosley.

Private interment in Wesley Freedom Cemetery.
