Lois Marie Gordon, 85, of Oak Glen Home, Coal Valley, died Thursday, March 20, 2003, at the home.
It was Lois's wish to be cremated. There will be a memorial service at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Esterdahl Mortuary, Moline.
Lois Marie Beede was born Oct. 3, 1917, in Dixon, Ill., daughter of Charles Le Roy and Laura Emma Knight Beede. She married Raymond Gordon April 18, 1936, in Rock Island. He preceded her in death July 23, 1996.
Lois was a clerk at Woolworth's and, during World War II, she worked in the restaurant at Woolworth's. She was also a toymaker at the former Strombeck-Becker, Moline. Later she owned and operated, with her husband, the former R&E Automotive, Moline.
Lois enjoyed crocheting, sewing and reading.
Survivors (and spouses) include her sons, Ronald Earl (Charlotte) Gordon, Moline, and David (Norma) Gordon, Orion; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; and sister, Gladys Elizabeth Gerdes, Dixon, Ill.
