Hiroshi K. "Ko" Abe, 90, of Nyssa, Ore., died Saturday, Nov. 14, 2010, at Saint Alphonsus Medical Center - Ontario. Funeral services are pending by Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette.

Hiroshi Abe 'Ko' Aug. 14, 1920 - Nov. 14, 2010 Nyssa Hiroshi "Ko" Abe, 90, Nyssa, passed away Saturday, Nov. 14, 2010.
A gathering will be held Nov. 27 at Shaffer Jensen Memory Chapel in Payette, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. for all who wish to pay their respects.
Hiroshi (Ko) Abe was born Aug. 14, 1920, in Rexburg, Idaho, to Shuji and Fuku Abe.
He was the youngest of four children.
The family moved a few years later to Seattle, Wash. There the family grew vegetables to sell at the market place.
Ko graduated from Lincoln High School.
When the order came for the Japanese to evacuate, the family moved back to eastern Idaho.
He stayed there until the okay was given to leave.
He came to the Treasure Valley and had various farm related jobs.
In 1949, he married Minnie Yamagishi in Ontario.
They separated in 1978.
Ko spent most of his working days with Sig Murakami and retired in 1986.
He enjoyed fishing, playing cards and word search puzzles.
He is survived by his sister, Satako; children, Keiko (Mike), Jeff, Ralph and Bryan; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ceasar and Kon; and son, Richard.
Arrangements are under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Chapel.
