Morris Smith Ison, 83 of Mound City, Kansas, died Monday, March 14, 2005 at Life Care Center of Osawatomie, Kansas. He was born September 5, 1921 in Pleasanton, Kansas, the son of Oscar Schuyler and Myrtle Alice Martin Ison. At the age of four, he went to live with his uncle and aunt, Bert and Nellie Martin. He married Carol Nadine Hall on February 14, 1942 at the Presbyterian Parsonage in Pleasanton, Kansas. He lived 62 years on the farm where he was raised. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the United States Air Force. Morris was self-employed as a real estate agent, prior to his retirement.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church, American Legion Hewitt-New Post and Masonic Lodge, all of Mound City, Kansas.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Betty. Survivors include his wife, Nadine of Mound City, Kansas; two sons, David Ison and wife, Lois of Berryton, Kansas and Martin Ison and wife, Merideth of Des Moines, Iowa; one sister, Laurita Kalheim of Seattle, Washinton; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11:00am, Thursday, March 17, 2005 at the United Methodist Church, Mound City, Kansas. Visitation will be from 7-8pm, Wednesday at the Coffel-Schneider Chapel, Mound City. Contributions are suggested to the Methodist Church. Interment will be in the Pleasanton Cemetary, Pleasanton, Kansas.
