Chris and Grace were parents to Lois who died while just an infant and Leo. They were members of the Kanawha Christian Reformed Church and Chris and Grace served their church faithfully.
Chris enjoyed farm work and the couple farmed near Kanawha and later near Britt and in the early 1940's they moved to a farm northeast of Kanawha where they farmed until their retirement in 1976 when they moved to Kanawha. He was the director of the Co-op Oil Company for many years.
