Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Jane Bouldin Carter, aged 79, widow of the late William H. Carter, were held from the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. S. Lovell, Danville Road, Wednesday afternoon. Burial followed in Oakwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Carter died at the Lovell home Tuesday afternoon after several months of declining health.
She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Bouldin, of an influential family of Henry County.
She was a member of the Mount Olivet Christian Church for 60 years. She was married 56 years ago to William Carter, who died nine years ago.
She is survived by three sons: E. T. Carter, Roanoke; W. H. Jr. and R. W. Carter of Martinsville, four daughters: Mrs. J. L. Weaville, Kernersville; Mrs. R. C. Shorter, Axton; Mrs. W. E. Stultz, Martinsville, and Mrs. J. S. Lovell, Danville Road; two brothers: H. G. Bouldin, Narrows, VA. and D. Fred Bouldin, Chicago, Ill, and two sisters: Mrs. Sarah Pritchett, Bell Springs, VA., and Mrs. Annie Taylor of Dublin.
