Mrs. Ida Terwedow, nee Dummer, was born on a farm near Waconia on April 29, 1872, the daughter of William and Wilhelmina Dummer. She was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church at Waconia by the late Rev. Wm. Friedrich, who also confirmed her in the same church in 1886. On April 7, 1889, she was united in marriage to Herman Terwedow. This marriage was blessed with six children, two daughters and four sons. One daughter, Anna died and two sons, Walter and Edwin, passed away in infancy. Mr. Terwedow died in 1946.
In 1902 the Terwedows moved to the village of Mayer where Mr. Terwedow operated a blacksmith shop. Since his death she made her home with her sister, Mrs. Louise Biersdorf in Mayer.
She is survived by one daughter, Lillian, Mrs. Magnuson of St. Paul, two sons, William of St. Paul and Herman of Anaheim, California, one brother, August Dummer of Mayer, one sister, Mrs. Louise Biersdorf of Mayer, five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
She had been hospitalized on and off for the past several years, and several weeks ago she fell and sustained a broken hip and entered the Watertown Hospital where she passed away early Saturday morning, Nov. 10, attaining the ripe old age of 90 years, six months and 11 days.
Pallbearers were John Grimm, H.J. Hill, Walter Hensoler, Dan Bleedorn, Walter Schumacher and William Ehmke.
