ELLA (WHITMORE) BEADLE OBITUARY
Mrs. Ella Beadle, widow of the late Charles O. Beadle, died at her home at Haven, at 6:15 o'clock Friday morning of heart disease. Her health had been impaired for several years, but her last illness was of but a month's duration. She died at the age of 65 years, ten months and sixteen days.
Ella Whitmore was born in Homer, Union County, Ohio, May 3, 1854. When twelve years old she came with her parents to Iowa and settled on a farm in Richland Township in this county. On December 23, 1873, she was married at Haven to Charles O. Beadle, and they made their home on a farm a half-mile from her childhood home, where she continued to reside until the time of her death. Mr. Beadle died five years ago and since his death a daughter, Mrs. James Goodwin, and her husband, have made their home with her and have had the management of the farm. Mrs. Beadle was a member of the Fairview Christian Church for twenty-six years and was a faithful attendant at its services as long as her health permitted.
She is survived by eight children, all of whom were in attendance at the funeral. They are Mrs. F. E. Graham, of this city; Mrs. A. P. Cobet, Chelsea; Mrs. James Goodwin, Haven; Fred Beadle, Waterloo; J. L. Beadle, Marion; Ralph Beadle, Columbia; George Beadle, of Haven; and Nate Beadle, of Waterloo. One son died in infancy. She also leaves nine grandchildren and one great grandchild; one brother, Nate Whitmore, of Center Point, and two sisters, Miss Clara Whitmore, of Center Point, and Mrs. C. B. Cram, of Neosha, Mo. The funeral was held from the home Sunday morning at 11 o'clock, Rev. Martin, pastor of the Methodist Episcopal church of Chelsea, having charge of the services. Interment was in the Haven cemetery.
