. Zackie Pite Stowers, 72, of Montcalm died Saturday in a Bluefield hospital following a long illness.
. Born December 26, 1905 at Tazewell, Va., he was the son of the late Isaac and Martha Shawver Stowers. He had been a resident of Montcalm for the past 54 years and was a retired coal miner.
. Stowers was preceded in death other than his parents by five sisters and two brothers.
. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Stella Davidson Stowers of Montcalm; two daughters, Mrs. Johnny (Uldene) Rowell of Brunswick, Georgia., and Mrs. Lorene Black of Lexington, North Carolina; one son, Emory Stowers of Brandywine, Md.; 11 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren also survive.
. Services will be conducted Tuesday at 3 p.m. from the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens on the Bluefield-Princeton Road.
