DIED.

In Shreveport, La., August 4th, 1875, at 20 minutes past 11, of congestive chill, or congestion of the brain, LOUIS, aged 9 years, 7 months and 1 day, son of Louis E. and Bettie H. Carter.

New Orleans papers please copy.

Again the dark winged messenger has been in our midst and borne away a fondly cherished treasure; leaving an aching, aching void. Many friendly hearts reach out in tender sympathy to the sadly bereaved family in this hour of their great affliction. Many young hearts throb in sadness as they already miss their little play-fellow. But upon on one does the grief rest so heavily as upon the heart stricken parents. Stricken deeper and darker settles the sorrow till the very soul cries out in its agony: "My boy! My Boy!" Yet only "over there" - a little way beyond, in the happy Angel-land lives their boy, waiting for that glad day when he shall hear the signal of father's, mother's, brothers' and sisters' release.
