Oct 19— James E. Bennett, 85, one of the most highly respected citizens of Bamberg county, died at his home at Olar, Tuesday night.
The funeral was conducted at the Baptist church at Olar Wednesday by his pastor, the Rev. Sam W. Danner Interment followed in the church cemetery.
Several year ago, Mr. Bennett was preceded by his wife, who was before marriage, Miss Sara Wood, Barnwell county.
Surviving are the following children: Mrs. H. C. Sightler, Greenville, Mrs. B. F. Creech, Augusta, Mrs. Ada Cochran, Dunbarton, Mrs. Minnie Cave and J. Press Bennett, Olar.
He is also survived by a host of grandchildren and several great-grandchildren
