Enlisted on Sept.14,1861 at the age of 16.,as a Private Co.B 37th.Regt. North Carolina Infantry. Re-enlisted for two more years. Was wounded at Shepardstown,and appeared on list of passports furnished to transferred men in General Hospital,Camp Winder in Richmond Va. to Hickory Station,N.C.
Came to Texas after the Civil War, and settled in Burns City, TX.
He was a farmer. Died when his wagon overturned. He and Amanda had six children.
