Enlisted on October 14, 1863 at Camp Vance, North Carolina as a Private in the 16th North Carolina Infantry, Company K. POW on May 6, 1864 at Wilderness, Virginia. Confined on May 7, 1864 to Point Lookout, Maryland. Transferred on August 13, 1864 to Elmira, New York. Died of disease as a POW.
