Jane was born in Tennessee on Christmas Day, 1848 to Henry Huffman Boyer & Rachel O'Neil Boyer. The Boyer family moved to Texas in the mid-1850's. Family history is that about 1854, during the journey, Rachel became sick and died from cholera and was buried on the banks of the Mississippi River. Henry and the children were in Gonzales County in 1855 when daughter, Harriett was married. Henry's death and burial dates are unknown.

Barney was married to Lucy Stevens 24 Jun 1900 in Floresville, Wilson County, Texas, he passed away 11 Oct 1957 in Floresville, Wilson County, Texas. Fayette passed away between 1877 & 1880, his burial place is unknown.
