Sometime around 1850, her family moved to Michigan, probably Lapeer or Genesee County. While her mother and step-father eventually settled in Millington Township, Tuscola County, Elizabeth and her siblings remained in the Lapeer/Genesee County area. Elizabeth married Wilhelm "William" D. Ebler, a German immigrant, in 1857 in Hadley, Lapeer County. They had six children: Henry, Lois Mary, Alice Jane, Carrie Dell, Jennie Mae, and Willis J. Ebler.
William died c. 1892 - 1893 of Bright's Disease (kidney condition), and Elizabeth died of mitral insufficiency (a heart condition) in Hadley Township. They are both buried in Goodrich Cemetery.
