Mrs. Emma Shafer, 69, widow of William Shafer, died today at her home, 408 Cortland av., after a prolonged illness. She was born in Clay and had resided in Syracuse nearly all her life. Mrs. Shafer was a member of Danforth United Church. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. William C. Gebhardt of Stoughton, Mass., and Mrs. Albert E. Merry of Syracuse; two sons, William G. and Fred P. Shafer of New York City, and four grandchildren. Funeral services will take place at the home Saturday at 2:30 p.m. with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery.
