Mrs. Bessie Rymer
Mrs. Bessie Mae Rymer, 61, of 2360 Greenway Ave., WInston-Salem hospital at 3 a.m. Monday after a long illness.
A native of Denver, Colo., she had lived in Buncombe County 40 years. She was a member of the North Winston Baptist Church and, earlier, had been a member of the Clear Creek Baptist Church in McDowell County,.
Surviving are the husband, Grover Cleveland Rymer, a daughter, Mrs. Eugene Terry of Winston-Salem; four sons, Grady of Lehigh Acres, Fla., Wesley A. and Cleveland G. of Marion and M.Sgt. John F. Rymer of the U. S. Army in Staubing, Germany, and 11 grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Storey Memorial Presbyterian Church at West Marion. Dr. J.W. Hassell, pastor, and the Rev. O. L. McGinniss will officiate. Burial will be in MCDowell Memorial Park with Ben Flowers, Hubert Hensley, Joe Mason, Roger White, Coley and Ronnie Hamlin as pallbearers.
The body will remain and Anders-Rice Funeral Home in Asheville until taken to the church to lie in state one hour prior to service. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
