Donald Earl "Don" Stanley, 73, of Elsmore, Kansas, died Thursday, November 11, 2010.

Don was born February 26, 1937, at Elsmore, Kansas, the son of Earl and Blanche (Cox) Stanley.

He was a fifth generation Allen Countian.

He served in the United States Army.

Don was a loving father and grandfather. He was a friend to all he met, and he served his community. He will be missed.

Survivors include one daughter, Brenda Ludlum & husband, Pete of Naples, FL; one brother, Gary Stanley & wife, Sharon of Aiken, SC; one sister, Barbara Rees of Stanton, TX; 5 grandchildren, Brooke, Kayla, Shelby, Josh, and John; and one great-granddaughter, Summer Rose.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Blanche Stanley; and his daughter, Leslie Ellen (Stanley) Norman.

Cremation has taken place. Graveside inurnment services will be Memorial Day weekend at the Elsmore Cemetery, Elsmore, Kansas.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society and may be left with the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel of Iola, KS, which is in charge of arrangements.
