The Chico Enterprise, Tuesday Evening, October 19, 1926: "Eliz. McClard Is Taken By Death. Mrs. Elizabeth R. McClard, 84, a native of Iowa and a resident of Chico since 1886, died this morning at her home at 1795 Magnolia street, Chico Vecino.

"Surviving are four children, Charles McClard and Mrs. A.P. Bruce, twins, and W.B. McClard and Mrs. Nellie Woodward, twins. Fifteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren also survive.

"Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock at the First Baptist church, the Rev. L.G. Morony, assisted by Rev. True Maxfield of the Grace Baptist church, will officiate. Interment will be made in the Chico cemetery. Fetters & Williams have charge of the funeral arrangements." - Carolyn Hackett Dowd.

Elizabeth was born in Bowling Green, Clay County, Indiana The family moved to Iowa when she was young - Leslie Wright.
