Emma Kathryne [Decker] Torbet
Funeral services are being held today, April 8, for Mrs Emma Torbet at the Prairie Dell Church, Rev. Worley officiation. Burial will take place in the Prairie Dell cemetery.
Death came to Mrs Emma Kathryne Torbet at 8:44 o'clock Monday night in the Iroquois Hospital in Watseka where she has been for the past five weeks. Mrs Torbet died of carcinoma of colon after an illness of three years.
Emma Kathryne Torbet was born September 18th, 1877 at Donovan, the daughter of John Decker and Mary Jane Jerman. She spent her childhood in the Prairie Dell community, attending the public schools. She was married at Iroquois on October 14, 1894 to John A Torbet, who survives.
The deceased is also survived by three daughters, Mrs Florence Webster, Watseka, Mrs Frances Daschner, East Lynn, and Mrs Nina Brownsey, Chicago, and her mother Mrs Mary Decker, one sister Mrs Nellie Hawkins, Kankakee, and five grandchildren.
Mrs Torbet was a member of the Christian Church and belonged to the Royal Neighbors and a neighborhood club.
