Richard Fredrick Lark passed away peacefully on October 26, 2010 at his home. He resided at 15006 Blackhawk Street in the Mission Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles, California at the time of his death.

A gentleman of true character and charm, he was born in Leavenworth, Kansas on November 29, 1920, the son of Albert C. and Mary (Sneller) Lark.

He lived in Kansas City, Missouri, where he graduated from Rockhurst College in 1942. He served in the 29th Regiment of the Horse Cavalry at Fort Riley and Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.

He started his career in the paper business, but eventually moved to California and served as Director of Administration for the California Real Estate Association. He retired in 1979 after serving as Sr. Vice Presdient of Los Angeles Federal Savings and Loan.

He lived life to the fullest and travel was his passion. He was a member of St. John Baptist de la Salle Catholic Church for forty-eight years.

He is survived by a son and his wife, Paul and Carol Lark of Olathe, Kansas, four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in St. John Baptist de la Salle Catholic Church, 16545 Chatsworth Street, Granada Hills.
Private burial will take place at a later date in Kansas City, Missouri.
